This page explains how Vector uses your CV information and the choices you have.

Your CV information

Vector uses the details you provide to prepare, review and improve your CV. CV text, contact details and uploaded documents are excluded from general analytics. Uploaded documents and images are sent to Cloudmersive for a malware check before their contents are read. If that check fails or is unavailable, the upload is rejected.

Document reading and writing help

When you upload a CV and allow Vector to read and review it, OpenAI processes the information needed to organise your details and provide feedback. Scanned pages or images may be sent to OpenAI to read their text. If you create a CV from scratch, your answers are processed by OpenAI to prepare a draft. Writing improvements also use OpenAI. We do not ask OpenAI to save these text requests. You can check, reject or edit suggested wording before using it.

AI Studio

AI Studio helps you personalise the appearance of your CV. You can edit your wording in any design. Writing improvements use OpenAI as described above.

Keeping your work

Vector keeps a recovery draft in this browser as you work. It stays on your device and can include CV text, editing history and photographs. Drafts expire seven days after the last edit and are removed when Vector next checks this browser. Anyone using the same browser profile may be able to reopen them. You can clear drafts and turn recovery off at any time. Browser storage can be cleared or become unavailable, so download important work. Temporary drafts created from uploads or pasted text expire after 24 hours and may become unavailable sooner.

Saved CVs and your account

When you choose to save, Supabase stores your editable CV, design, photo and target-role details for your account. Each saved CV expires 30 days after its last save. Expired CVs cannot be reopened and are removed from active storage within 15 minutes of expiry. You can delete a saved CV sooner from My saved CVs. Your account remains available after its CVs expire.

You can sign in with your email address and password or, when available, your Google account. Choosing Google lets Supabase receive basic profile information from Google, such as your name, email address and profile picture. Vector does not send your CV to Google for sign-in. Verification and password-reset emails are delivered through our email provider, Resend. An account is required to use Vector. Saving a CV to your account is optional. Any database backups follow the hosting provider’s separate backup retention schedule.

Job search

Reed receives your job-search terms, location and chosen filters. Vector does not send your CV to Reed. Job-match percentages compare skills in the advert with the details on your CV. They do not predict hiring outcomes. Opening a vacancy takes you to Reed, where its privacy policy applies.

Optional video profiles

Saved videos are stored privately for 30 days. Anyone with a sharing link or CV QR code can watch until its displayed expiry date or until you remove it. Removal blocks new playback links immediately; an already issued link may work for up to one minute. Scheduled cleanup removes expired and deleted files, normally within a day, and clears unfinished uploads. Provider backups may have separate retention. Links on downloaded CVs cannot be changed after download.

Your choices and privacy questions

You can keep your existing wording when uploading a CV, review suggested improvements before accepting them, and choose another template if you do not want AI Studio.
